THE BRIEF

LOROS Hospice wanted to do something the city had never seen before. In partnership with Wild in Art, they were bringing 40 large elephant sculptures to Leicester – a public art trail spanning the whole city. The brief was mammoth: name, brand, and launch the event, then sustain it across a year of activity. The challenge wasn’t just creative. It was making an entire city want to show up.

ALL IN A NAME

The name came first. ‘Stomp Round Leicester’ did three things at once: described the trail, nodded to the stampede of elephants arriving in the city, and issued an open invitation to everyone. It set the tone for everything that followed.

A MAMMOTH IDENTITY

The identity had to work as hard as the name. Handcrafted to echo the artists’ own hands, the logo anchored a visual system of 50+ illustrations and doodles that could flex across audiences and dial up the fun when needed – or pull back when something more considered was called for. A brand voice full of puns and personality did the same job in words.

THE RESULT

The result was an identity that could speak to a school trip and a corporate sponsor in the same breath. Over 300 pieces of printed and digital collateral, sustained across 12 months, without losing its warmth or its wit. 100,000+ visitors. Over £500,000 raised. The whole city stomped.
